Arrest made in robbery at Boost Mobile in Seffner

Published:

Hillsborough County deputies today arrested the suspect in Monday’s robbery at a Boost Mobile store in Seffner.

A tip to deputies led to the arrest of Maxwell T. Cook, 22, of Plant City, who was staying at a hotel near I-4 in Seffner.

Deputies say Cook was seen on on surveillance video entering the store, at 14710 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., and threatening to kill the store clerk if she did not hand over all the cash from the register.

Cook did not display a gun, nor implied he had one, deputies say.

Detectives responded to the hotel and arrested Cook without incident. He is being held at the Orient Road Jail with bond set at $7,500.
