All Sears Portrait Studios nationwide are shutting down in two weeks, as the company that operated them ceases photo operations.
CPI Corp. had been the vendor that operated portrait studios in retail stores, and their shutdown affects Sears, PictureMe and Kiddie Kandids portrait studios.
Sears officials say they’re “exploring all options” to keep providing portrait services, but in the meantime, any customers with photos waiting, or had an appointment recently, needs to pick up their photos by April 18.
“After many years of providing family portrait photography, we are sad to announce our Sears Portrait Studios are now closed,” Sears said in a statement online. “We appreciate your patronage and allowing us to capture your precious memories.”
Sears operates more than 10 stores in the wider Tampa Bay region.
