Florida Gov. Rick Scott on Thursday announced the appointment of real estate developer Gary Harrod and the reappointment of investment firm owner Martin Garcia to the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority.
Harrod, 64, of Tampa, has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Tech University. He is the chief executive officer of Harrod Properties Inc. and has served on the board of directors for the Bank of Tampa and on the board of trustees for the University of Tampa. Harrod succeeds Joseph Diaco and is appointed for a term beginning today and ending July 1, 2017.
Garcia, 57, of Tampa, has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Florida and a law degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law. He is managing director of Pinehill Capital Partners Inc. Garcia has served on the board of trustees for Wake Forest University and on the board of governors of the Florida Bar Association. His term began today and ends July 1, 2017.
