Published:

Louis Miller, who heads the world’s busiest airport in Atlanta and was former director of Tampa International Airport, will retire Jan. 3.

Miller has been general manager of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport since Sept. 27, 2010.

He oversaw the opening of its new international terminal and guided the airport’s inauguration of Southwest Airlines flights.

Miller, who Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said helped propel the airport into a regional economic development, plans to retire to his native hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah.
