An undercover investigation into unlicensed contractors resulted in the arrests of five men who posed online as licensed electricians, Tampa police said.

Police detectives contacted each of the suspects through Internet advertisements and requested estimates on various repair jobs. The suspects were arrested after each arrived at the operation location to provide work estimates, police said.

James C. Maynard, 49, was charged with contracting without a license (plumbing and electrical). He was also charged with violation of probation and booked into the Orient Road Jail.

David G. Greenberg, 53, was charged with contracting without a license (electrical/alarm systems). He was also charged with violation of probation and booked into the Orient Road Jail.

Rene Kiperman, 34, was charged with contracting without a license (air conditioning).

Paul Easterling, 42, was charged with contracting without a license (plumbing and electrical).

Terrell Ray Warren, 49, was charged with contracting without a license (plumbing and electrical).

Kiperman, Easterling and Warren received notices to appear in court and were released at the scene.

Investigators with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation issued civil notices to cease and desist to all five. The department also issued civil fines to each.
