Life Time Fitness isn’t the only company opening a gym in a shopping mall in Tampa Bay.

Brandon High school graduate and former NBA player Joey Graham and former big box gym manager Jim White are opening a new “First Fit” gym in the Westfield Citrus Park shopping mall. The 3,900-square-foot gym takes the place of a piano and organ shop in Citrus Park, and will focus on what’s known as High Intensity Interval Training, a much faster-pace workout than traditional health regimens. The gym sets workout programs that last 25 to 45 minutes “ideal for the busy professional trying to stay fit,” the company says.

Customers can purchase a $100 monthly pass, or take classes at $22.99 each, the company said. After Citrus Park, the company plans another location at the Westfield Countryside in Pinellas County. The company hasn’t set a date to open the Westfield site, but hopes to place locations in Westfield-managed sites across the region.

This comes as the health club giant Life Time Fitness prepares to open at International Plaza mall. That site will feature a large gym area, full-service spa, cafe and health assessment center.
