TAMPA -

A former vice president for Citicorp Services Inc. has pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $1 million from the company over seven years, according to the U.S. attorney's office in Tampa.

Susan Emily Jones, 50, of Lutz, bought Buccaneers season tickets, prepaid debit cards, traveled and even gave money to charity that she obtained fraudulently from Citigroup between November 2003 and January 2010, the U.S. attorney's office said in a statement released Wednesday.

Jones, a former senior business director for Citicorp, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and could be sentenced to as much as 20 years in federal prison.

"Jones falsely and fraudulently led Citicorp Services Inc. employees to believe that she was authorized to make certain expenditures of Citicorp Services Inc. funds," the U.S. attorney's office says. "She misappropriated the funds for her personal enrichment."

Her total take: $824,301.57.

The U.S. attorney's office says she managed to bypass internal controls. In addition to the football tickets and debit cards, she spent money on personal credit cards, auto expenses and personal expenses.
