CLEARWATER - Delta Air Lines Chief Executive Officer Richard H. Anderson will be honored as the 2013 recipient of the Tony Jannus Award for airline industry achievements in ceremonies in Tampa and St. Petersburg on Nov. 15.
The Jannus Award’s 50th annual honoree was named for strengthening Delta’s business model and enhancing the company’s performance.
Delta is the second busiest carrier at Tampa International Airport with 16.8 percent of the market share of passengers in 2012.
Anderson began his career in 1987 with Continental Airlines, followed by 14 years with Northwest Airlines where he was CEO from 2001 to 2004.
He then worked for UnitedHealth Group as executive vice president and president of UnitedHealth’s Commercial Markets Group before joining Delta in 2007.
