Lawmaker to be at job fair in St. Pete

U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor will host the 2013 Job and Community Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at The Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N., St. Petersburg. Participants include Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance and WorkNet Pinellas, the regional workforce development boards for Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Hispanic women's group to host lunch Thursday

The Hispanic Professional Women's Association will host a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 4500 W. Cypress St., Tampa. Guest speaker Paul Singer will present "The Simple Truth About Success: What Men Say and Women Know." The cost is $20 for members, $25 for guests who make reservations by Tuesday. 'Category 5 General' to speak at chamber event

Retired Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré will be the keynote speaker at the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce's annual Military Appreciation Banquet from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina, 700 S. Florida Ave. Honoré is widely known as the "Category 5 General" who led Task Force Katrina in the aftermath of devastating hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast in 2005. Check out 113 models in Parade of Homes

The 2013 Tampa Bay Parade of Homes, March 2-17, will include 113 models by 33 builders in 75 communities throughout Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties. Model homes will be judged by a panel of building industry professionals from across Florida who will consider site plan, curb appeal, design, materials, outdoor living spaces, architectural detailing and workmanship. Models will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
