Although Busch Gardens Tampa is closing its Critter Castaways show at the Bird Gardens Theatre on Feb. 16, the animal stars who are rescued cats and dogs will be staying, a spokesman said Thursday.

“Fans should stay tuned as we’ll be unveiling big plans for something exciting and new coming to Busch Gardens’ newest land, Pantopia, later this year,” spokesman Travis Claytor said.

Pantopia is a new attraction area replacing Timbuktu, where the 335-foot drop tower Falcon’s Fury is scheduled to open this spring.
