Two women are being sought by authorities after they had a 9-year-old relative take another woman's purse during a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Jasmine Daneishamonique Johnson, 26, of 4410 Courtland St., Apt. 310, and Chantel Ciarra Jenkins, 24, of 1005 7th Ave. E., Tampa, both face charges of third-degree grand theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and fraudulent possession of personal information.
At about 8:25 p.m. June 25, Johnson and Jenkins went to the Chuck-E-Cheese at 1540 Brandon Blvd., Brandon, to attend a birthday party, the sheriff's office said. A surveillance video shows them looking at another woman's purse, and Johnson directing her 9-year-old nephew to get the purse, according to the sheriff's office. The child reaches behind the victim, grabs the purse and places it on a table, where the two suspects are sitting.
Jenkins is then seen carrying the purse as she and Johnson leave, according to the sheriff's office.
Detectives determined the 9-year-old did not know the purse belonged to someone else.
That night, the victim's credit cards were fraudulently used at a convenience store, the sheriff's office said.
Detectives have warrants for Jenkins and Johnson.
