ZEPHYRHILLS — Two school buses on routes for Wiregrass Ranch High School collided Thursday morning, but there were no serious injuries, the Pasco County school district reported.

The accident happened at 6:25 a.m. at State Road 54 and Morris Bridge Road, but details on what led to the crash were not available, said Linda Cobbe, spokeswoman for the school district. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.

No students were on one bus. The other bus, which was at fault, was transporting three special-education students, two of whom were in wheelchairs and one who was in a secure vest strapped to the seat, Cobbe said.

The parents of two of the students took their children to a hospital to be evaluated, Cobbe said.

The driver considered at fault has been removed from driving duties pending alcohol and drug tests, which are routine in such cases, Cobbe said.
