A driver and passenger were injured early this moring when their box truck flipped over a guard rail and landed in a ditch off Interstate 275 in Tampa.
According to Tampa Fire Rescue, the crash occurred just after 7:15 a.m. on southbound I-275 approaching the Bird Street exit.
Witnesses say the truck flipped over the guardrail and landed in a steep embankment about 10-20 feet below the roadway.
Rescue crews worked for about 20 minutes to remove the pair from the truck, and they are hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, officials say.
The crash caused heavy traffic delays along I-275 earlier this morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
