For the blind and visually impaired, good Braille skills can be a huge help for reading books, getting a job or with everyday tasks like using an ATM.
On Friday, more than 50 people competed to find out who would go on to the national competition in the 2014 Braille Challenge. The annual event is designed to encourage those who are blind or have severe vision problems to learn Braille.
The competition was held at the Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research in Tampa.
