A Tampa man was killed Sunday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle and driving off the roadway in Citrus County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Paul Philip Badro was traveling eastbound on County Road 494, west of South Schooner Drive, in Crystal River around 4:30 p.m. when he lost control after pulling a “wheelie.”
Badro, who was wearing a helmet, struck a road sign and was thrown from the motorcycle, landing in a water canal along the roadway.
Badro died at the scene, the FHP said.
Investigators are determining whether alcohol was a factor in the crash, the FHP said.
