A 59-year-old Brandon woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver late Saturday night on Providence Road in Brandon, authorities said.

Killed was Shelley Ann Grimes, 2005 Natrona Court, said Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputies.

Grimes was walking west across Providence Road within the crosswalk at the intersection of Providence Ridge Boulevard just after 11 p.m. when she was struck by a Chrysler 300 that had at least three occupants, deputies said.

The car did not stop and continued south on Providence Road.

Deputies said the vehicle may be missing its driver’s side rearview mirror and may have damage to the hood and possibly to the windshield.

Descriptions of the occupants were not available.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200 or, to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward, call Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 1-800-873-8477.
