TAMPA - Portions of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway from downtown to Ybor City will be closed starting Friday as work crews continue to widen lanes and construct ramps.
One lane will close on the westbound Selmon Expressway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday between Exit 9 at 22nd Street and Exit 8 at Twiggs Street/Kennedy Boulevard, the Florida Department of Transportation said.
On Saturday, all eastbound lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Exit 6 at Morgan Street and Exit 11 at 50th Street. Motorists will be detoured off at Exit 6 A/B to Morgan Street/Channelside Drive to eastbound Adamo Drive to the 50th Street entrance ramp, FDOT said.
Additionally, all eastbound expressway lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday between Exit 9 at 22nd Street and Exit 11 on 50th Street.
All eastbound traffic will be directed off the toll road at the exit of 21st/22nd streets, detoured east on Adamo Drive, then back on to the expressway using the entrance ramp on 50th Street.
Tolls will be suspended for exiting the eastbound expressway at 22nd Street during the detour hours.
