Tampa police are seeking a suspect in an armed robbery of a Nebraska Avenue Family Dollar store on Thursday evening.

Police say the suspect entered the store at about 5:30 p.m. and walked up to the register to purchase a lollipop. He then handed the cashier a note stating that he had a gun and demanded money, police said.

After the clerk gave him the money, the suspect fled on foot, police said. The suspect has been known to frequent the store and is believed to still be in the area, according to police reports.

The suspect was described by police as a black male with a dark complexion who was wearing a black baseball cap with white letters spelling out "LSW," a white tank top, light color shorts, sandals and carrying a red bag.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-873-TIPS (8477) . Anonymous tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
