Two people are in critical condition after a suspicious Tampa house fire.

Police and fire crews responded just after 2 a.m. today to a fire at 3001 E. Ida St.

Tampa Police Department and Tampa Fire Rescue units found a 58-year-old adult male in front of the house and a 51-year-old adult female behind the house, the fire rescue said. Both the man and woman had severe burns, firefighters said.

The man lives at the home, but the woman does not, firefighters said.

Both victims were transported in critical condition to the burn center at Tampa General Hospital.

A 53-year-old man lives in the house but escaped without injuries, the fire rescue said. There’s no indication the man was involved in any dispute, the fire rescue said.

Police and fire officials did not release the victims’ names.

Arson investigators were called to the scene.

It appears the incident resulted from a domestic dispute, officials said.
