The Tampa Bay area will be getting an early dose of summer heat into next week.
Temperatures will be above normal and fewer afternoon storms will be popping up, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Drier air in the atmosphere, and a warm air mass pushing east, means temperatures will climb into the low-90s through the weekend, with rain chances only hovering at 20 percent.
That rain will be sparse, with an occasional popup afternoon storm forming primarily inland and ending in the evening.
Low this week will be in the mid- to upper-70s.
