A Thonotosassa man was arrested at his home Saturday night after threatening to kill a woman with a tool, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

David Russell Callow, 53, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.

Deputies arrived at Callow’s U.S. Highway 301 home around 10:45 p.m. after he threw an empty, plastic bottle, hitting a woman in the back of the head, according to the arrest report.

Standing about 7 feet from the woman, Callow grabbed a trowel, a tool commonly used for moving and smoothing out cement, threatened to kill her, deputies said.

No bond had been set for Callow.
