Pinellas County authorities are searching for a driver involved in a hit and run in Largo late Thursday.

The Largo Police Department identified Julie Ann Smith, 47, as the driver of a car that left the scene of a wreck Thursday night in Largo.

At 10:17 p.m., a blue Toyota, driven by Smith, collided with another car at the intersection of Keene and Belleair roads, according to Largo police.

Smith drove away from the scene before authorities responded and without exchanging information with the other driver, police said.

The unoccupied Toyota was found a short time later in a nearby neighborhood. Largo Police searched for the missing driver using K9 units and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office helicopter with no results.

Smith faces a misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

Anyone with information about Smith’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
