A fire damaged a multifamily house Thursday morning in Hyde Park and left the residents homeless.

About 7:47 a.m., crews from Tampa Fire Rescue were sent to 110 S. Delaware Ave. where they saw a two-story multifamily house with heavy smoke coming from the roof and second floor. Firefighters fought the blaze from inside the house.

All occupants were able to get out of the house unharmed.

Thirty firefighters fought the blaze for about 20 minutes before it was under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Red Cross is helping the families displaced by the fire.
