Filipino Catholics gathered at St. Paul Catholic Church in Carrollwood on Sunday to celebrate Santo Niņo, the feast of the child Jesus.

Performers danced traditional dances during the Mass, which featured an iconic statue of the baby Jesus on display on the church’s alter.

The statue has special meaning for Filipino Catholics. Explorer Ferdinand Magellan gave the statue to the ruling family of the Philippines as a gift in 1521.
