A Port Richey father was arrested Tuesday night for choking his son and slamming him into a wall at the family’s home during an argument, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
Edwin Reyes, 39, was inside the family’s Sea Pines Drive home about 5:42 p.m. when he and his son, whose age was not released by the sheriff’s office, got into an argument.
Reyes pushed his son into a bedroom door, grabbed him by the throat and began to choke him, according to the arrest report.
Reyes then ripped his son’s shirt and threw him into a hallway wall, deputies said. At some point, Reyes pinned his son against the floor.
The son suffered red markings around his neck as a result of the incident.
Reyes, who is charged with one count of felony child abuse, remains in the Land O’ Lakes Jail with a $5,000 bond.
