A San Antonio man was arrested Monday after beating his ex-wife when she complained about his hygiene, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:30 p.m., James John Agnello, 65, was at the 10317 Buncombe Way home he shares with his ex-wife, when the pair began to argue over his “poor” hygiene, according to the arrest report.

Agnello punched the woman on the left side of her face with his fist and then slapped her on the right side, deputies said.

Agnello’s ex-wife suffered slight swelling near her left eye, according to the report.

Agnello, who remains in the Land O’ Lakes Jail, is charged with domestic battery. No bond has been set.
