Hillsborough County deputies are investigating after a man was found dead in an apartment complex parking lot this morning.

Deputies responded to calls from Claymore Crossing Apartments, 5005 Claymore Drive, at about 11:40 a.m., police said. They found the body of Marcus Levon Williams, 32, whose last-known address was 18970 Duquesne Drive in Tampa.

Williams had suffered “severe upper body trauma,” Col. Donna Lusczynski said during a news conference.

The case has been classified as a homicide.

Deputies are canvassing the scene and interviewing neighbors in the complex, which is located near U.S. 92 and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

There is no official cause of death yet, Lusczynski said. No weapon was recovered at the scene.
