CLEARWATER - Tropical Storm Andrea is scuttling the graduation plans of some Pinellas County schools that had planned their commencement ceremonies at outdoor venues.

Countryside High School, which was scheduled to hold graduation at Bright House Field, moved its ceremony to a split session in the school gym, according to the school district. Ceremonies began at 9:30 a.m. for students with last names starting with A-L and 11:30 a.m. for students with last names starting with M-Z.

Lakewood High School is holding its ceremony at 7 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, 1900 Gandy Blvd., in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg High postponed its graduation to 9 a.m. Friday at the school's stadium. If rain continues, graduation will be moved to the school auditorium in a split session. The session would start at 10 a.m. for students with last names beginning with A-J and 1 p.m. for students with last names beginning with K-Z.

Seminole High School rescheduled its graduation, which was originally planned at Bright House Field Thursday, for 5 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks located at 12685 Ulmerton Road in Largo.

Other high schools scheduled to hold their graduation ceremonies outdoors have contingency plans should severe weather persist. The school principals will issue voicemail messages to let people know what's happening, according to the school district.

The contingency dates for the other schools with ceremonies scheduled outdoors are:

* Largo High: two sessions, 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the school auditorium

* Pinellas Park High: two sessions, noon and 2:30 p.m. Friday in the school auditorium
