PLANT CITY — The public is invited Sunday as more than 300 Florida Army National Guardsmen are welcomed home after nearly a year’s deployment overseas.
A ceremony will be at 1 p.m. at the Florida Strawberry Festival’s agriculture center, 2508 N. Oak Ave. Buses carrying members of the Plant City-based 3rd Battalion, 116th Field Artillery Regiment will arrive between noon and 1 p.m.
The guardsmen were deployed last year to Qatar and provided security at U.S. military installations. They have spent the last few days in post mobilization processing at a base in Mississippi.
