PLANT CITY — The Florida Strawberry Festival’s Facebook site has nearly 83,000 likes, and its Twitter account has 10,000 followers, which this time of year translates into a lot of questions posed by those headed to the annual celebration of King Strawberry.
“We tend to get asked the same questions,” said Lizz Harmon, whose public relations company runs the festival’s Facebook page and Twitter account.
Harmon said the most frequently asked questions via Facebook and Twitter include:
♦ How much does it cost to get in?
Adults pay $10; children ages 6 to 12 need a youth ticket costing $5; children 5 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult.
♦ Can I take an umbrella into a headline concert at the festival’s Wish Farms Soundstage?
No umbrellas are allowed. Harmon recommends visitors bring a poncho in case of rain.
♦ Can I bring my dog?
No, only service animals and those that are part of the entertainment are allowed on the festival grounds.
♦ What are the festival’s hours?
10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; parking lots open at 9 a.m.
♦ Where’s the disabled parking?
There are several lots with disabled spaces, and the best source is the map on festival’s website, under the “About Us” tab at www.flstrawberryfestival.com.
♦ Can I bring in my own food and drink?
The festival does not allow visitors to bring food or drinks from outside the grounds.
♦ When does the festival end?
The festival runs through Sunday.
