Two Dowdell Middle School students were arrested today, charged with throwing an “acid bomb’’ during school this morning.
The two seventh-grade boys – one is 15, one 13 – were charged with possession/discharge of a weapon school property and with disrupting a school function.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the acid bomb produced a “small explosion’’ on a school walkway between two buildings just after 9 a.m. The explosion happened during class change time.
The school was temporarily placed on lockdown after the explosion, which caused no injuries or property damage.
