Tampa state Rep. Dana Young files to run again in 2016

Published:

Cruising to re-election this year without opposition, state Rep. Dana Young, R-Tampa, has filed paperwork to seek another term in 2016, according to the state Division of Elections website.

Young, who was first elected to the House in 2010, represents Hillsborough County’s District 60.

Filing the paperwork will allow her to raise money for the campaign.

Meantime, in another Tampa-area district, Odessa Republican Joseph Michael Wilkinson has filed paperwork to run in 2016 in House District 64.

That Hillsborough and Pinellas County district is currently represented by Rep. Jamie Grant, R-Tampa.

He faces a primary challenge this year from Miriam Steinberg, a Tampa engineer.
