So how did Crist get an invite to the Scott funder?

Judging from the invitation and the hype, last night’s fundraiser for Gov. Rick Scott in Tampa was a stellar event -- $1,000 per person or $10,000 for the VIP reception/photo op, held at the Bayshore Boulevard home of Gary and Margo Harrod, with a host list including the area’s top GOP megadonors -- Mel and Brent Sembler, Robert and Nancy Watkins, Al Austin, Dick Beard, Tom Arthur, Rick Michaels and Trey Traviesa.

So how did Charlie Crist end up getting an invitation?

He swears he did -- not, apparently, an April Fool’s joke.

Crist couldn’t explain why, but here’s the explanation from Greg Blair, spokesman for the Scott campaign, via email: “Charlie was invited as a past Republican donor. Even our databases can’t keep track of the many flip flops of Charlie Crist.”
