A Largo man is in serious condition this morning after he lost control of his beer truck and drove off Interstate 75 and into the Manatee River.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Kevin Dennison, 40, was driving northbound on I-75, across the J.D. Young Bridge, when he lost control.

Dennison crashed through the inside concrete retaining wall and into the river, partially submerging the truck, the FHP said.

The crash temporarily blocked two left lanes on northbound I-75 approaching the Ellenton Premium Outlets mall, the FHP said.

Dennison, seen standing on top of the truck after the crash, has been hospitalized with undisclosed injuries, the FHP said.

The Hofbrau Munchen truck was not carrying any beer, the FHP said.
