The Vitality of Tampa
The Tampa area is one of the fastest-growing regions in America. This is reflected in the ever-growing-and wide-array of community and regional events. The Tampa Tribune is actively involved in supporting various projects and organizations that reflect Tampa's racial and cultural diversity, support education and contribute to the cultural fabric of our community. Every year, we receive hundreds of applications from groups requesting publicity for their events or for sponsorship. We honor as many of these requests as our time and resources within the calendar year allow.

Two Kinds of Support
The Tampa Tribune offers two types of support: Publicity and Sponsorships.

Publicity
For local events that perform an important public service, we offer free listings in our "Events in Our Community" calendar that publishes weekly on Mondays in The Baylife section of The Tampa Tribune. (Click here for sample listing) Events that are often showcased in this manner are fundraising dinners, auctions, walks, races and fashion shows.

Sponsorships
Every year, The Tampa Tribune chooses to sponsor a limited number of events. Events that qualify for sponsorship are often large in scale and thus allow us to cultivate our relationship with a large number of readers and potential readers. In addition, these events offer opportunities for The Tampa Tribune to work in partnership with the event-organizer through advertising, public relations, media placement, point-of-purchase and media cross-promotion to help us stimulate the readership and purchase of the newspaper.

News Coverage
The Tampa Tribune's agreement to list or sponsor an event or program does not include news coverage. However, we encourage producers and promoters to work directly with our news department to arrange news coverage of their events.

When submitting your application for sponsorship or participation in "Events In Our Community", please indicate if you are also interested in the support of our media partners, WFLA, TBO.com and the Florida Publishing Group. If you choose to submit an application, the Community Event and Sponsorship Committee will review it and notify you of the its decision within three weeks of receipt.
