The Tampa Tribune Sponsorship FAQ

1. The Tampa Tribune limits the number of sponsor logos to five per ad, including The Tampa Tribune's. Other sponsors may be line listed.

2. We request that one person, a staff member if available, or a member from the steering committee or representing the organizer, be designated to work directly with the Tribune's community relations specialist where Tribune-developed promotional material approvals and proofing are concerned.

3. Upon approval of sponsorship request, The Tampa Tribune will develop a letter of agreement. This will detail the obligations of each party, including the expectations of the event and a list of the benefits The Tampa Tribune will receive (tickets, programs, etc..). It will also include a deadline schedule for submission of information for advertising and printed materials, as well as ad specifications. Because several departments may be involved in the production process, from initial artwork to printing, meeting deadlines is critical to assure that materials are ready for the event and that ads appear according to planned schedule. If the Tribune is producing an ad for the event, copy information must be provided to the Tribune at least three weeks prior to the first scheduled run date. Earlier deadlines may apply for collateral material. Failure to comply relieves the Tribune of its obligation to meet delivery or insertion dates and - in extreme situations - to produce materials at all.

The community relations specialist will not be responsible for reminding you to provide ad materials or logos by deadline.

4. The Tampa Tribune reserves the right to edit ads produced by other organizations for style, grammar, spelling, etc. prior to the first run date. A camera-ready ad must be received at least one week prior to the first run date. If you're unable to meet this deadline, we may not be able to run your ad on the requested dates.

We reserve the right to decline an ad if language or graphics are considered offensive to Tribune readers.

A camera-ready ad must be sent electronically or supplied on disk. The community relations specialist will provide electronic file transfer information.

5. Photocopies/faxes of logos or art will not be accepted.

6. A proof copy of the ad will be submitted once to the event representative to correct any information or to make any other changes.

7. The Tampa Tribune may not make any changes to the ad once published if the event representative approved the ad. If the Tribune caused the error, a correction will be made as quickly as possible.

8. Regarding ad placement in the newspaper, specific run dates and sections may be requested, but are not guaranteed. Ads that are a part of The Tampa Tribune's sponsorship commitment occasionally are "bumped" for news or paid advertising consideration without prior notice. In those cases, every effort will be made to reschedule the ad to publish as quickly as possible.

9. The Tampa Tribune will run ads to promote an upcoming event only. Thank you ads will not be accepted.

10. The value of the advertising provided will be based on the prevailing open retail rate.

11. The Tampa Tribune's event sponsorship agreement does not guarantee news coverage by The Tampa Tribune, WFLA News Channel 8, TBO.com or any newspaper associated with the Florida Publishing Group. The event representative should work directly with the newsroom to arrange coverage. It is your responsibility to send press releases to the newsroom and the community relations specialist.

12. A portion of the event budget must be spent with The Tampa Tribune, WFLA News Channel 8, TBO.com and/or associated publications in the Florida Publishing Group. Promotional advertising will be placed to supplement a paid advertising schedule.

13. When purchasing advertising space in The Tampa Tribune, call your Tampa Tribune advertising representative directly. If you do not have an account representative, call the Advertising Department at (813) 259-7455 or your community relations specialist will assist in referring you to an advertising representative.
