Mark Lowry to entertain Oct. 10 at First Baptist

PLANT CITY Singer, songwriter and humorist Mark Lowry will bring an evening of music and comedy to Plant City’s First Baptist Church.

Lowry‘s show, “Unplugged & Unplanned,” will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at the church, 503 N. Palmer St. Best known for penning the Christmas classic, “Mary Did You Know?” and singing baritone with the Grammy Award-winning Gaither Vocal Band, Lowry has been entertaining audiences for nearly four decades.

He will be joined by renowned pianist Stan Whitmire and special guest, gospel singer-songwriter Warren Barfield.

Lowry’s comedic storytelling evolved from his early career when he needed filler during soundtrack changes during songs. He filled the dead airtime by talking about his life and Christian testimony.

Lowry has performed at the Florida Strawberry Festival with the Gaither Vocal Band but this is his first performance at First Baptist, said the Rev. Pete Battaglia, church minister of worship.

Tickets are are $20 for general admission, $25 for Gold Circle preferred seating and $18 each for group admission of 10 or more.
