Published:

PLANT CITY Lucille Brock Faircloth’s 90th birthday celebration will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at Northside Baptist Church, 1700 N. Franklin St.

She was born in Bainbridge, Ga. and moved to Plant City at age of 11. She traveled here in a school bus with her mother, father, grandmother, uncle and seven siblings. After their move to Plant City, three more siblings were born which made Lucille No. 4 in a family of 11 children.

She married Cecil Faircloth in 1941 and they remained married until his death in 1983. Her first son Larry was born in July 1947 and a second son Phil was born in April 1952. She has three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

She worked at Felton’s grocery from 1965 to 1979. She was also a lunchroom worker at Bryan Elementary School for 13 years.

She is still a member of Northside Baptist, where she joined 58 years ago.

The family requests no gifts but well-wishers can write out their fondest memories of Lucille.
