You better get outside and enjoy the weather today because the arctic cold front that has frozen most of the nation is coming to Tampa Bay on Monday night.
For today, there is a 20 percent chance of showers starting in the afternoon with a high of 78. The chance of rain remains tonight with a low of 63.
Monday morning will have a 30 percent chance of showers with a high near 66.
But by midmorning on Monday, things will change, according to News Channel 8 meteorologist Bryan Bennett. About 10 or 11 a.m. the cold front will arrive in the Tampa Bay area, he said, and the high will fall to 53 about 3 p.m.
And Monday night the temperature falls further to a low of 30 and wind chill values as low as 23. There will be a north-northwest wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. There is the chance of a hard freeze in areas north of the Tampa Bay region.
More cold for Tuesday with a high near 54. The north wind will be 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Tuesday night has a low of 30.
Tampa Bay gets a break on Wednesday when the high rises to 64, and the low that night of 54.
A 40 percent chance of rain returns for Thursday and Friday with a high in the mid- to upper 70s.
Florida weather returns on Saturday should be nice with a 30 percent chance of showers and a high near 79.
