Double standard on full display

Published:

Regarding “Mo. State Fair bans rodeo clown who mocked Obama” (Nation & World, Aug. 13):

A rodeo clown? Really?

Is this what our nation is being forced into — selective racism hysteria?

Where were these people when every other president was being mimicked or smeared or lied about, or had books and movies made with their assassination as the main plot?

As entertainers such as Chris Rock always state when questioned about their racist remarks, “It’s just comedy” — unless, of course, it happens to one of them.

The left obviously has a double standard that is on full display with their personal attacks and trashing of a rodeo clown who wore an Obama mask during a rodeo in Missouri. What is even more disturbing is the governor and lieutenant governor taking up this ridiculous accusation and running with it.

President Obama is no different than any other president. He is fair game just like the rest of us, though I’m sure he doesn’t think so. When was freedom of speech removed from our rights? Never!

Seriously, can we get to the real problems that America and its people face today — the rotten economy, job losses and how to create real jobs, not more government jobs?

A rodeo clown? Seriously?
