The Tampa Bay Lightning hosted an emotional military reunion at the Forum on Saturday before playing the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Capt. Matthew Lunn of Riverview surprised his family on the scoreboard with a video message from Bagram, Afghanistan, then shocked them by greeting them at the game.

“I love you guys. I miss you. See you soon. Go Lightning. Be the Thunder,” Lunn said in his video message, before walking over to his wife, Amy, and sons John and Jacob, and lifting one of his sons into his arms.

Lunn, a 19-year veteran of the Marine Corps, has served two tours of Iraq and is currently in Afghanistan with the Joint Special Operations Task Force.

The Lightning lost to the Penguins, 5-4.
