KNOW YOUR BUTTERFLIES: Identify the butterflies in your garden and help with the Fall Butterfly Count by taking the Fall Butterfly Identification Seminar from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Weedon Island Preserve, 1800 Weedon Drive, N.E., St. Petersburg. This is an adult-oriented class but suitable for ages 12 and older. Call (727) 453-6500 to sign up. The butterfly count is 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the preserve.

WATER-WISE WORKSHOP: Learn how to reduce water consumption in the landscape and leave with a free micro-irrigation kit (non-Hillsborough residents pay $20 for the kit). The workshop is from 10:30 a.m. to noon today; 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 28; and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 19 at Hillsborough County Extension, 5339 County Road 579, Seffner. MICRO-IRRIGATION RETROFIT WORKSHOP: Learn how to convert a traditional irrigation system into a water-efficient micro-irrigation system.
