The peak season for family travel to Pigeon Forge and Cherokee is summer, with lulls in late August and early September as school starts.

October to early November is also a popular time, as the fall color envelopes the Smokies. Even mid-December through January gets busy with the Pigeon Forge Winterfest. Spring represents an appealing shoulder season as temperatures warm up while kiddies are still in school.
