Photos, home movies needed

Published:

Tampa’s Art Programs Division is seeking photographs or home movies from individuals or institutions that relate to Tampa’s historic African-American neighborhoods, including the Central Avenue business district, the Scrub and Dobyville. Photos or film footage showing activities, businesses, parades and important events in those neighborhoods also are wanted.

The photographs and film footage are being collected for possible use in the preparation and presentation of several large-scale art installations for Perry Harvey Park. They will be scanned or copied and returned by mail or made available for pick-up after scanning.

The images should be delivered to the addresses listed below by 5 p.m. Feb. 28. Although collection will continue, they will be needed by this date to be considered for the public art installation.

For information, email artprograms@tampagov.net or call (813) 274-8531.
