Members of the Tampa Bay Rays will slide into the season's latest styles Thursday when the players' wives host their annual "Rays on the Runway" fashion show.
The event is at 7 p.m. at Nordstrom at International Plaza. Proceeds will benefit the Children's Dream Fund, a nonprofit group that grants dreams to children ages 13 through 18 who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
Now in its fifth year, the fashion show pairs Rays players with special ladies: wives, girlfriends or children from the Children's Dream Fund. All will be clad in looks from Nordstrom.
Players and coaches hoping to hit a homerun on the runway include Jason Bartlett, Reid Brignac, Lance Cormier, Wade Davis, Matt Garza, John Jaso, Evan Longoria, Dioner Navarro, Jeff Niemann, Carlos Peña, Bobby Ramos, Sean Rodriguez, Derek Shelton, Kelly Shoppach, James Shields, Dan Wheeler and Ben Zobrist.
