Celebrate Independence Day at the Tampa Bay History Center with free admission.

Admission will be waived on Friday, July 4, courtesy of Bank of America.

Costumed reenactors representing several eras of American military history will interact with guests, including nearly two dozen costumed historical interpreters depicting Civil-War, Seminole War, Spanish American War, WWI and WWII-era military members and citizens. Interpreters will share hands-on displays of artifacts, crafts and music.

The museum will be open extended hours, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., on that day.

Also included with the free admission offer is ‘Against All Odds: Art of the Highwaymen.’ The special exhibit is on display through Aug. 17.

After visiting the history center, grab a patch of grass at Cotanchobee Park to enjoy the Channelside fireworks display scheduled to begin at 9 p.m.

Tampa Bay History Center is located at 801 Old Water St., Tampa.
