Hillsborough County residents/Tampa Water Department customers are invited to attend a triple-play of free seminars on earth-friendly living when they sign up in advance with the Hillsborough County Extension Service.

The April 5 events take place beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the UF/IFAS Extension Hillsborough County office, 5339 County Road 579, Seffner.

Topics include composting, water wise irrigation and rain water harvesting and include giveaways of free compost bins, micro-irrigation kits and rain barrels.

There is a limit of one free session giveaway per household and space is limited to participate.

Rain barrels are utilized to gather rainwater runoff from roofs for landscaping purposes, thus conserving potable water.

Non-Hillsborough County residents can also participate in the workshops on that same day for a $26 per session fee.

For more extension office lawn and gardening workshops, visit their online calendar .
