Teachers get shown some love before the school year begins when they visit the Henry B. Plant Museum this weekend.

On Saturday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. all educators are admitted free, along with their familes, when they show their school I.D. at the ticket counter.

Normal ticket prices are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $7 for students and $5 for children 4 - 12 years of age.

The museum features original furnishings, reproduction Edison carbon filament lighting and signage depicting the Gilded Age. It also hosts traveling exhibits.

Currently on display is ‘The Pottery of Wedgwood’ featuring more than 80 examples of Wedgwood’s creations from the 19th century on display through December 31. Twenty of the pieces are on loan from the Birmingham Museum of Art, which houses the most comprehensive collection of Wedgwood outside of England.

The Henry B. Plant Museum is located at 401 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa.
