Military shown appreciation on Memorial Day weekend and beyond

Bay area businesses are showing their stripes by honoring military members and their families with free and cheap fun and entertainment this Memorial Day weekend.

Dade City's Wild Things is offering a free animal encounter (your choice of tiger cub, lemur, monkey feeding, bobcat, zebra, gator, bear feeding, big cat feeding, coyote, python) to veterans with a tour purchase. The offer is good Saturday, May 24 and Sunday, May 25. Call (352)567-9453 for tour times and reservations. Valid military issued I.D. must be presented to redeem the offer and no other coupons or discounts can be applied.

Legoland Florida has an ongoing military appreciation offer of one day's free admission plus discounts for family members to attend the theme park geared towards families with children ages 2 - 12.

Airheads Invites all active and retired military personnel jump free on Monday with their military ID. There are two Bay area locations in Tampa and Largo. 

Lowry Park Zoo In honor of Memorial Day, military personnel will receive free admission on Monday, May 26. As many as three direct dependents of military personnel will also be admitted for free.

The Florida Aquarium is offering two free admission tickets for any active duty, veteran, retired or drilling reservist or National Guardsman for themselves and a guest May 24 - 26. Up to four additional family members can receive $10 admission. Veterans who are guests during the event can also enjoy a special Memorial Day meal for $5 that includes a choice of hamburger or hotdog, french fries and a fountain drink.

Busch Gardens has an ongoing program called “Waves of Honor” honorings any active duty military, activated or drilling reservist or National Guardsman to one complimentary admission per year to either SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, for military personnel and as many as three direct dependents. Must have a valid active military ID for service member and for their direct dependents in order to participate.

Plant Museum in Tampa is offering free admission all veterans, active duty, or retired military personnel and their families on Sunday, May 25, from noon to 5 p.m.
