Kids fishing challenge is cheap family fun

The Greater Palm Harbor YMCA is hosting a Kids’ Fishing Challenge on June 7 at Wall Springs Park.

The catch and release event will be open to the first 250 children ages 12 and under who register in advance by calling (727) 787-9622, visiting the Greater Palm Harbor YMCA or online at www.ymcasuncoast.org through Friday, June 6.

Kid will receive a new rod and reel, bait, T-shirt, raffle ticket and lunch for the $15 entry fee.

Non-anglers will receive lunch, T-shirt and a raffle ticket for $10.

There will also be arts and crafts and a bounce house at the event. Trophies will be awarded in a variety of categories at 12:30 p.m.

Onsite registration may be available the day of the event if spaces remain with check-in for the mini-anglers starting at 8 a.m. at Wall Springs Park, 3725 Desoto Blvd., Palm Harbor.
